Gratitude Meditation

 

"Gratitude is confidence in life itself. It is not jealous, nor judgmental. Gratitude does not envy or compare. Gratitude receives in wonder the myriad offerings of the Rain and the Earth, the care that supports every single life. Gratitude is being truly thankful for all you have, being grateful for the blessing of family, friends & this life we have been given." I try to start each day with "Gratitude" meditation in some form, be it sitting outside in the first sun, breathing deep and taking the time to go within, or just quietening my mind as I'm getting ready for the day and feeling my heart chakra being filled with love and true appreciation this life. It does take practice, however when you start taking time to meditate it gets easier & easier to quite our "monkey minds" and clear our minds of that "material" clutter. When I meditate I literally feel my heart expanding as I remember to be thankful and focus on all the positive & raise my own vibration let go of any negativity. I connect with the "higher power" of divine light and love and feel completely embraced as a child of the Universe. I then feel completely thankful, and I extend that true feeling of gratitude for my family, my friends, my animals, and being alive on this Earth, the Earth itself, all its beings, food, shelter and all the blessings it brings. I then reflect on being grateful for enduring hardships and lessons that have made me grow, learn & become stronger and forgive anything or anyone, even myself for mistakes & upsets. When you feel gratitude it turns pain into appreciation, anger into forgiveness, denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity, problems into gifts, failures into success, mistakes into important events. I am thankful to base all my meditation on the foundation of gratitude. I start each day with the mantra that every day is a blessing and we all have so much to be thankful for. It's a beautiful feeling to take time to go within and feel completely filled with love & gratitude, especially in times when I feel anxious, upset, angry or depressed, it helps lift anything heaviness from your heart.
